So first off, figure out what you want to get. I would start with a 1600 Microsoft points card.
Once you go to your local store, take the card and walk out, do not pay for it.
The sensors in most stores do not ring if you try to steal Pre-Paid cards because they have no values unless activated at the register.
Now you should scratch off the code and call up MSFT.
Once you call, go to billing, once you are talking to a human, explain how you bought the card and when you try to redeem it, it says "Invalid Code".
They should ask for the code and give it to them.
Then, they will ask for your Gamertag, e-mail, and other info about your account.
They will redirect you to another person who specializes in this kind of issue. Again, you will have to give them the info.
As long as the code is real, it will come up for the person. Within 3-5 days, you will get an e-mail with a replacement code, which you can redeem on your account.
Tips and Tricks
---------------------------------
1. If you plan on doing this multiple times, make sure you give them the info on different accounts. If you keep using the same account, it will show up in the records.
They will most likely not give you a replacement.
2. When going for larger priced items, you should legitimately purchase the card and steal one that is not activated.
Then call them up and they will ask for a receipt if the product is a large amount.
This will make them believe you bought more.
3. Even though you call up with a different accounts info, you can still redeem the code on your main account.
